Why students choose France
Taught in English
Many private business and design schools teach their bachelor’s and master’s programmes fully in English.
Internships built in
Business school programmes usually include internships and often an exchange semester abroad.
Work while you study
Your student visa lets you work up to 964 hours a year, about 60% of full time.
A year to find work
After a master’s-level degree you can stay for a year to look for work or start a business.
How degrees and applications work
UniPal places students at private, English-taught schools. Business schools offer a bachelor’s (often a three- or four-year BBA) and master’s-level programmes such as the Master in Management, MSc and MBA. Many of their diplomas are recognised by the French state; check this for each programme.
Public universities also exist, but most of their bachelor’s degrees are taught in French and they are not our focus.
You apply directly to each private school on its own website; schools add an interview and sometimes their own test. Once a school admits you, you complete the Études en France procedure with Campus France Egypt (an online file and an interview), then apply for your visa.
Entry requirements
- IGCSE and A-Level
- Usually two or three A-Levels with your IGCSEs, plus the school’s interview.
- IB Diploma
- The IB Diploma; each school sets its own minimum points.
- American Diploma
- Schools assess your GPA and transcript; some ask for SAT scores or AP exams.
- French Baccalauréat
- If you take the French Bac at a school in Egypt, you can also apply to French-taught programmes.
- English
- IELTS 6.0 to 6.5 or equivalent for English-taught programmes; some schools run their own test.
Tuition and living costs
- Bachelor’s tuition
- About €10,000 to €20,000 a year at private business and design schools.
- Master’s tuition
- Usually more than the bachelor’s; MSc and Master in Management programmes at the best-known schools cost the most.
- Money for the visa
- At least 47% of the gross monthly minimum wage (SMIC) for applications from 1 August 2026: about €877 a month, or about €10,530 for a year. It was €615 a month before.
Long-stay student visa (VLS-TS)
- What you need
- An admission letter, a completed Études en France procedure, proof of resources and somewhere to live for your first months. Within three months of arriving you validate the visa online and pay a tax stamp.
- Fee
- €50 when your file goes through Campus France (€99 otherwise), plus the Campus France procedure fee.
- Work during study
- Up to 964 hours a year.
- After graduation
- A one-year residence permit, which cannot be renewed, to look for work or start a business. It is open to graduates of a master’s-level diploma or a licence professionnelle obtained in France. A related job above the set salary level can then lead to a work permit.

Applying for a master’s
Master’s-level programmes at private schools (MSc, Master in Management, MBA) often accept graduates of any subject. A master’s-level diploma also opens the one-year job-search permit.
Scholarships
Private schools give merit scholarships, usually a reduction in tuition decided when you are admitted.
For master’s study, the French government’s Eiffel Excellence Scholarship is open to international students nominated by a French institution.
